The temporary solution I have right now is stop dropbox while doing normal work. Model is Acer aspire ES15, bought around a year ago. I don't suspect my computer is at fault since this is just new and works fine doing normal work. This also happens every time I turn my computer on, 100% disk usage with Dropbox on the number 1 with the highest disk activity. The lag spike seems to happen only when I'm online and dropbox is open.

When I stop dropbox process and disconnect my internet connection, my disk usage and activity is low (around 10-50% ony) but still doing the same work I would normally do. Other computers seems to have the same problem but it doesn't bother them (but it bothers me, since it hangs up my computer several times a day).

I checked the disk usage every now and then and has observed that there's a filecache.dbx that runs in the background that has highest disk activity during the 100% spike. My problem is that my disk usage fluctuates up to 100% (randomly throughout the day) and causes lag on several occasions. We have about 8 computers installed with dropbox and using the same account. I work in a small firm and we use a single dropbox account to store our files. Is there anyone who can help me? I always have problems everytime I open dropbox.
